What We Believe

The sum of all our theological beliefs is Jesus Christ.

Everything we believe - all the details of our doctrine - spring from knowing God through His Son Jesus Christ. He's the reason we exist, the goal we aim for, and the explanation of life!

Scripture

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired and inerrant Word of God found in the 66 Books from Genesis to Revelation. We believe God not only inspired every word, but has preserved them through ages. For purposes of accuracy and unity, we use the King James Version as our pulpit standard in teaching and preaching (Psalm 12:6,7; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:19-21)

Trinity

There is one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deut. 6:4; II Cor. 13:14; I Jn 5:7).

Man and his Sin

Man was created in God's image, but fell due to sin, bringing physical and spiritual death, and eternal separation from God. Now, all mankind exists as a fallen race with
an inherited sinful nature that causes us to be
at enmity with God and headed towards a literal hell.
(Gen. 2:16-17; Rom. 3:10-23; 6:23; Rev. 20:12-15).

Jesus Christ

He is the eternal Son of God who: became man, without ceasing to be God; was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the virgin Mary; His death on the cross is the only sufficient payment for the sins of the world; He arose from the grave on the third day and later ascended into heaven where He now sits on the right hand of God, the Father.
(Matt. 1:23; I Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9)

Salvation

The most important issue for anyone is that they be “saved”. Each person needs to be saved because each person has sinned against the only Holy God.  Being saved means a person recognizes his or her sinful state and then decides to have “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). The moment a person applies their faith in Christ, God accounts him or her as eternally saved, without any religious or moral contribution on their part.
(Rom. 3:22-26; 10:9-13; Eph. 2:8-9; Jn. 3:16).

Eternal Security

It is the power of God that keeps men eternally secure. That means once a person receives the gift of salvation from God, it can never be taken away or lost. One cannot gain salvation by his works, neither can he lose it because of his works.
(II Tim. 1:12; Jn. 10:28; I Peter 1:3-5).

The Return of Christ

Jesus Christ will rapture His Church prior to the seven years of tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-6)

Baptism

Baptism (immersion in water) identifies a believer with Jesus Christ. It is only for believers. It does not save, but is a symbol of salvation. (Acts 2:41; Rom. 6:4-5).

Church

The church is a local group of baptized believers who are called to worship God, encourage one another, and evangelize the world. (Heb. 10: 24-25; Mt. 28:19-20).

Separation

Christians are called to separate from worldly, sinful practices, and to dedicate themselves to Christ for useful service.
(Rom. 12:1,2; II Cor. 6:17)

Baptist Heritage

Since the beginning of church history, there have always been Baptist-like-churches. These believers did not always go by the name Baptist, but they were always distinct from Rome's religious errors, and they carried out their faith in fidelity to the Scriptures. As one surveys the religious groups in history, one will find that the Historic Baptistic position most faithfully adheres to the Scriptures.
